A FORMAL INTRODUCTION OF BOSTONISTA

Before my blog, before my Facebook page, before my instagram and before my twitter, came the inspiration behind it all. Starting one humid and hot Summer of 2011 beginning my second year in college, I was in my best friend’s house in our home Puerto Rico and she was telling me about this new photo portal she was obsessed with. In all of this I was wondering, what could be so addictive? As a matter of fact that is what has taken me to what I have now and that is called my one and only preferred baby, Bostonista.

In this art gallery as I like to call it instead of doing the usual re-blogging and follow for follow tendencies found in tumblr, I take, browse, look and post pictures that fill me with inspiration as well as together create a great display of abstract, geometrical, floral, brand name combination that fills me with delight to share with everyone.

It is my honor to share with you BOSTONISTA, as I now consider all of you my lovely bostonistas, even though you’re not from Boston, which not even I am, so here for you is a lovely display of some of my recent pictures in it!!

TOP FAVORITE FOR SPRING AND SUMMER - THREE FLOOR

Yes, I am obsessed with clothes, accessories fashion and everything dealing with it. I try to indulge myself in it as much as possible. My favorite collections usually are Spring and Summer collections, which pretty much is because their like my personality, they’re fun, flirty and bright. So as I found a couple of looks from the same collection that left me wanting to order the whole collection!

This clothing line is called Three Floors, you can find it in online stores like ASOS and of course their own website Three Floors, as soon as I saw their first look of this collection I instantly fell in love, it was a match made in heaven. There Floors is a very affordable brand that offers as you can observe amazing pieces, like these boots I'm dying to find!!

GOLDEN GATE - EDITORIAL BY ANDY YAKOLEV

I am not a huge fan of editorial work, but when I see something I like; I love. This morning while routinely answering email and reading my daily reads online, this caught my complete attention and I searched for it until I found this work of art which was photographed by Russian photographer Andy Yakolev. As experienced while watching this editorial and other works of his I couldn't help to notice in complete amazement how his photography in a way imitates to create an oil painting through the camera lens.

I tried to do more research on the photographer himself, but he keeps himself hidden somewhere in Russia which gives this post a hint of mystery. As portrayed in this editorial called Golden Gate, there is no single dull image- you can easily imagine a story behind every one of them. There are a scarce amount of photographers I've seen these days that have the imagination to create something that will stand out or even something that doesn't include white background with a bright light. So, encore for ANDY!!!

THE GATSBY COLLECTION- BROOKS BROTHERS

Celebrating the Great Gatsby movie premier I made this post I lust. After a long awaited time, the moment has come!! Today Mat  10th is the premier of The Great Gatsby movie. After it's starting date being pushed back a couple of times today is the day for big fans like me to see the premier of this book turned movie. 

The American menswear brand, Brooks Brothers announced its new Great Gatsby collection inspired by Buz Luhrmann’s film, which is based on the iconic novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The New York-based brand produced more than 500 outfits for 3-D film with costume designer Catherine Martin; an exclusive fashion collaboration seemed like a natural way to celebrate the upcoming Warner Bros. flick. Martin has said one reason she decided to work with the preppy clothing brand was because "Fitzgerald was a Brooks Brother costumer."

The 1920s-style collection includes tailored suits, shirts, ties, shoes and of course, tuxedos. These are some of the favorite pieces I picked out.

DIOR COUTURE SPRING/SUMMER 2013 SHANGHAI --- A SHOW TO LUST FOR

Amazing  doesn’t even cover what this show is. Shanghai, considered one of the top fashion capitals in the world both business wise as well as shopping wise, has given home to the launch of Dior Couture Collection and some pieces of the Haute Couture Collection from the Spring Summer 201-2014 line. Who would’ve said we’re almost half way through 2013! What made this show that more special and have the “wow” factor apart from the amazing pieces portrayed part of it has to be the amazing runway. I would call it “The Goth Spring in China”  or “50 shades of Spring” sophisticated and womenly florals adorned and put in contrast with minimalistic arragements of grays thorugh out the rooms.

AND THE SWIMSUIT SEASON HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN

This post is to all of those who are crazy to find where these amazing geometrical halters are from, I know I’ve had various friends asking me where they can get them or who designs them; well here it is!

Australian line, A.T.G. (All Things Good) is the creation of designer Stephen "Kristo" A.T.G’ s women collection that accesses a new view on high fashion street wear.

I’ve had a couple of friends buy some of his swimsuits as well as myself, which the post is coming out because I just received it! What I love about this line is how the designs, is how it incorporates sport elements, tech fabrics, a body conscious silhouette that give your body an architectural sensibility. The aesthetic direction takes a slick, shape-focused approach, using clean lines, unique concepts and strong attitude to manipulate and twist each piece into the modern.

Here are a couple of the pieces some of my friends and I bought for summer and some pieces from the collection I’m sure you will love!!

A VERY UNDERESTIMATED PIECE: FOR MEN

I am currently obsessed with guys wearing zipped hoodies. I don’t know if it’s the style of the hoodie itself or the guys that I’ve noticed wearing them but, for anyone interested or reading , in my list it’s in the top 5 things any men’s closet should have.

Just for you to know where I’m coming from, the style and the grouchiness or that “I really don’t care what I am wearing” feeling of the hoodie, gives the guy wearing it sex appeal. 

• Whether it is to go to a club with tight jeans and cool sneakers or loafers.

• Chill in the apartment or go to the library on a study day or to classes (where I've seen my fair chair)

• Or just to go shopping or walking around

 The main point of this story is that hoodies (in men) is a look that has been underestimated by a lot of us.
